Of course, technique and intelligence have vital functions, too, – you must command the technique of an instrument in such a way, that you can take advantage of all existing possibilities, and use your intelligence to explore all musical details – but in the end, intuition is the most important thing.

For me, the determining factor in creative powers, which brings a piece of work to life, is musical instinct.

Music, this wonderful global language, should be a source of communication among people. Once again, I ask my fellow-musicians all over the world, to devote the genuineness of their art to serving mankind, in order to unite all human beings as brothers. May everyone of us, who is capable of doing so, contribute his share, until this ideal has been reached in all its glory.”
